Young Carers Festival 2025

This year’s Young Carers Festival took place on 11th July 2025, bringing together over 100 young carers from secondary schools across Lincolnshire for a well-deserved respite celebration of their strength, and resilience. Held at the beautiful campus of Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln, the event was packed with laughter, connection, and moments of pure joy.

The festival was all about giving young carers the chance to unwind, be recognised, and feel supported.

As students arrived, student ambassadors from Bishop Grosseteste University gave a campus tour followed by Seekers Create who spend the morning with the students exploring their artistic skills and how to channel their unique skills. The afternoon was filled with a festival feel, whether it was bouncing around on bouncy castles, showing off skills at the penalty shootouts, or sinking hoops in a friendly game of basketball, there was something for everyone.

For those looking for something sweet, the chocolate fountain was a great hit, others flocked to the glitter tattoo, while groups of friends made memories together in the popular photobooth.

While the day was full of fun, it also created space for reflection and connection. Carers First were on hand throughout the festival to share the invaluable support and resources they offer to young carers across Lincolnshire. Their presence served as a reminder that young carers are never alone — there’s a network ready to support their well-being, education, and future.

We’d like to thank all the schools, staff, and partners who made it possible and brought their students to the event for a well-deserved respite day. Most importantly, a massive thank you to the young carers themselves — your dedication to your loved ones is inspiring, and you absolutely deserve every moment of joy and recognition.

We look forward to hosting the third festival in 2026!
