Welcome to Future Focus

Future Focus is a hub designed to bring together all aspects of careers, education and training for young people, parents/carers, adults and teaching professionals.

Future Focus is brought together by LiNCHigher, a consortia partnership of education providers and organisations supporting young people in schools, colleges and community groups across Lincolnshire.

We want to provide young people with the information and support they require to make informed decisions about their future. Planning next steps after school or college is an exciting time, however it can understandably be confusing and a little daunting given the number of options available, and we are here to help make this process easier!

Familiarising yourself with the information on this hub will get you up to speed, wherever you are on your journey. It will enable you to access the right support at the right time, ensuring you are well placed to make informed decisions about your future or support individuals who are themselves in the decision making process.

Throughout the Future Focus website, you’ll find an introduction to the many options available, including facts and stats, helpful hints to support your progression, useful charts, guides and much more. There’s also a glossary for any confusing terminology!

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our team, we are always happy to help.

For students

The LiNCHigher team, and our partners, provide a range of free workshops and events to schools and colleges, as well as in the community. These explore the different routes into Higher Education, apprenticeship pathways (locally and further afield) and career opportunities.  We also explore the key skills and experience needed for these different routes and how to obtain them.

For parents/carers

There are dedicated zones in the hub which provide a range of resources and guides, training and lesson plans and other support materials for educators and parents/carers. These can be utilised to support young people's progression as well as professional development or adult learners seeking to access or return to higher education and training.

For teaching professionals

LiNCHigher is collaborative project, part of a wider national initiative called Uni Connect, funded by the Office For Students (OfS). The overall aim is to increase aspirations amongst young people and achieve the government target of supporting under-represented young people’s access to Higher Education, Apprenticeship and training opportunities.
